TRASH & RECYCLING
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2019
Trash & recycling is picked up weekly on Wednesday.
All totes should be placed in the street or alley with handles facing away from the roadway.
If possible, allow four feet between totes and
keep away from cars, trees and mailboxes.

Placing your trash & recycling out the
NIGHT BEFORE pick up is recommended.
Waste Management begins pickup at 6:00AM!

REMINDER: OPEN BURNING IS NOT
PERMITTED IN THE BOROUGH!
Please do not put your trash and recycling out
before 12:00 noon the day before pickup.
On trash day, please remove your totes from the
street and sidewalks ASAP.

CURBSIDE RECYCLING
All residents will use the provided yellow lid recycling tote for commingled recycling. Please do not bag recyclables. Place empty/rinsed items directly in the tote. PLEASE FLATTEN/BREAKDOWN ALL BOXES!
*Recyclables can no longer be dropped off at the Recycling Center.
Accepted Items: Recycling Guide
Glass bottles and jars, aluminum and metal cans, plastic bottles and containers #1 through #7 (lids removed), cereal boxes, junk mail, brown paper bags, magazines, newsprint, cardboard (flattened), cartons (food and beverage cartons such as milk, juice, soup, broth, etc. )
Do Not Include: food waste, plastic bags, polystyrene foam cups and containers, needles, tissues, paper towels, napkins & shredded paper.

TRASH REMOVAL
All residents will use the provided green lid tote for trash. Each unit is allowed a maximum of (2) 33-gallon bags of your choosing in addition to or in place of the tote.
Accepted Items:
All ordinary household trash and garbage and non-recycled materials.
Do Not Include:
Tires, TV's electronic devices, bulk items and hazardous waste.

LARGE BULK ITEMS
The bulk tag program has been discontinued. Pick up of large items such as appliances, furniture, machinery or equipment, refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers are not included in your weekly trash service. Call Waste Management for their pickup fee or contact a hauler of your choice.

LEAF COLLECTION
The leaf drop off program has been discontinued. Per Waste Management, you may bag your leaves and place them out with your trash for collection. Each unit is allowed a maximum of (2) 33-gallon bags of your choosing in excess of your trash tote.

ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT RECYCLING
TV’s, computers, monitors, etc. cannot be disposed of in the trash
or recycling totes. Please call Waste Management for their fees,
or visit the following websites for additional recycling centers:

RETRIEVR
-Montgomery County has an agreement with “Retrievr” for electronic waste pick up and recycling which is available to all residents, see link https://retrievr.com/location/montgomery-county-pa/ .
-Retrievr charges a flat $12.50 doorstep convenience fee for clothing and any small electronics.
*These fees can vary with your location, but typically include:

$15 for each microwave

$38 for each flat TV of any size, for each TV/Computer monitor less than 33 inches that uses a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT)

$105 for each TV/Computer monitor 33 inches or higher that uses a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) , for each wooden cabinet or rear-projection TV of any size

$55 for each dehumidifier

$55 for each window air-conditioner
-
$55 for each mini refrigerator under 50 lbs
