TRASH & RECYCLING
How do I pay for my trash service?
Property owners will receive a trash bill once a year, usually around the
middle or end of January. The amount of the bill is $110.00
per unit and it is due by the 1st of April each year. If
payment is not received in the borough office by this date, a $25.00
late fee per unit is assessed. This fee is enforced by
Pennsburg Borough Ordinance and can result in a lien against the
property if fees are not submitted.
What is included in my trash service?
Your trash service includes a once weekly curbside garbage pick-up,
bulk item disposal, and recycling. We also provide
branch pick-up, Christmas tree pick-up, and cardboard recycling.

Borough bags and bulk stickers can be purchased at the following locations:

How does the recycling program work?
Place your clean &
separated items in containers of your choice. We accept Plastic #1
and
Plastic #2 items, aluminum cans, tin, clear, brown & colored glass in.

the recycling containers at the Pennsburg Fire Company parking lot.
Cardboard recycling takes place the second Saturday of every month
from 8:00a.m. until 12:00noon at the Pennsburg Borough Recycling

TAX INFORMATION
What is the Occupational Privilege Tax?
The Occupational Privilege Tax is a tax imposed on each individual engaged
in an occupation within the limits of the Borough of Pennsburg.
This
includes those who are self employed and owners of businesses.
Employers are responsible for collecting the fees, filing a return, and
forwarding them to our office. Should you be employed in more than one
municipality, you are required to pay the Occupational Tax to the area of
primary employment, and not to both municipalities. Forms are available at

MISCELLANEOUS
Do I need a permit to put up
a fence?
Yes. Permits are also
required for sheds, additions, swimming pools,
signs, patios,
sheds, decks, new construction, and alterations or modifications of
existing buildings. Please call the Borough office with any questions
relating to inspections and permits before you begin any work at

Do I need to schedule Rental Inspections?
If you are a Pennsburg Borough property owner and you rent your
property, you will receive a notice to schedule a rental inspection.
The inspections are performed every three years or when there is a change in
tenant(s). Upon a satisfactory inspection, you will receive a Rental Permit
that must be maintained in the rental unit. The fee for this
inspection is $25.00 per unit and $10.00 per room.
Do I need to report tenants if I
own a Rental Property?
Yes. In January, Tenant Registration forms are mailed to the property owner
and must be filled out and returned to the Pennsburg Borough Office.
Forms must be updated as tenants change. Forms are available
here
or at the Borough Office. Each time a tenant changes, an
inspection of the rental unit must be scheduled.

Grass/Weeds:
Pennsburg Borough Ordinance requires
property owners to maintain grass and weeds on their property at a height
not to exceed 8 inches.
Snow Removal:
Borough Ordinance requires property owners/occupants to remove snow
& ice from sidewalks within 24 hours after snow/freezing rain has ceased to
fall.
